Biography
Technology PR Services was founded by Chris Wilson, following over 30 years experience in the press and PR industry, almost exclusively in the technology arena.
The first third of Chris’ career were spent in journalism, working first as a staff reporter and later as editor of a number of key business and technology publications. During this time, he also freelanced for various national newspapers and addressed seminars in the UK and overseas.
In 1986, Chris joined Harvard Public Relations and helped build the consultancy into one of the leading technology PR agencies in the UK. He account directed many high-profile campaigns ranging from brand-building work for Fujitsu and the European launch of supercomputer company Sequent through to the Everest hot-air balloon sponsorship for Star Micronics.
As an account director of Harvard, his responsibilities included development of client services, best-practice initiatives and client relations. Latterly, Chris was responsible for introducing and managing a new business development practice, responsible for attracting a wide variety of clients to the company from small start-ups and niche technology companies through to big brands including Vodafone, Fujitsu, Pentax and Adobe.
While directing Harvard’s new business operations, Chris was continually struck by the lack of ‘intermediaries’ in the technology field, to help clients find the ideal PR partner – even though they exist and thrive, not only in every other marketing discipline but also most other industry sectors. This is the raison d’être for Technology PR Services.
